I never heard of that before . I don't think so .
I can assure you that this is not true. My Black Lab passed away during the night last year and she was facing south (towards me).

Why would you believe that? So if a dog gets hit by a car and is lying there dying he will get up and turn to make sure he is facing east??? Oh yeah have you heard that cats always face Southeast when they die???
When I was growing up, my dog was hit by a train. Lemme tell you.....he was NOT facing east.
