Is that true that non-east asian men prefer east asian women in East-Asian countries?

I heard that in east asia,such as japan, korea, Taiwan, china, Expats or other non east-asia men prefer asian women,they won't date other women such as white women,is that true? If yes, why is that?Is that true that non-east asian men prefer east asian women in East-Asian countries?
