1) Hamas is a Palestinian organization. Most western countries consider it a terrorist organization, as Hamas is responsible for many suicide attacks within Israel. The Palestinian authority also does not recognize the legitimacy of Hamas rule in Gaza.


2) Gaza is not a part of Israel, ever since Israel's unilateral disengagement plan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel's_unilateral_disengagement_plan).
