I heard this quote the other day on PEACE in the Middle-East. TRUE or FALSE?

If the Palestinians put down all their weapons, there would be PEACE in the Middle-East.

If Israel put down all their weapons, there would be no Israel.I heard this quote the other day on PEACE in the Middle-East. TRUE or FALSE?
there has never been peace in the moddle east, and there never will be.I heard this quote the other day on PEACE in the Middle-East. TRUE or FALSE?
An interesting notion. But life doesn't work that way because of too many variables. Understand that the Palestinians along with Iran do not believe Israel should exist as a state nor Jews exist as a people.
Pure speculation either way -- you can't determine ever if ';what-if'; events are true or false until they happen!

Obviously, the best solution would be for BOTH sides to put down their weapons (at least the ones pointed at each other). But since both sides are afraid to do so (the Palestinians believe that Israel would take them over immediately if they did, the Isrealis believe the Palestinians would immedately attack if they did), that's not likely to happen.

The reality of our world today: a nation *must* have weapons to defend itself or at least to keep from having to defend themselves. Otherwise, anybody else -- even a two-bit dictatorship -- with guns could take over a country in a heartbeat.

From my point of view, Isreal hasn't shown by its actions over the past 30-50 years that a disarmed Palestine would be left alone -- in other words, I don't think having Palestine disarm itself would do anything good for Palestine. Same goes the other way.
False. Even if the Palestinians disarmed, there are plenty of other countries with grudges against Israel.
