Is it true govt will charge $5 to enter East Coast Park and $3 for child?

Not now! But we won't know in the future, as you know the Singapore's Government can just impose any charges anywhere they like! Just like they put ERP at housing estate, so why not charges at East Coast Park.Is it true govt will charge $5 to enter East Coast Park and $3 for child?
How can that be true when you can enter from any part of the entire East Coast Park? They'd have to fence up the entire Coast if they do that right? Is it true govt will charge $5 to enter East Coast Park and $3 for child?
why will the govt will do that?

It's a public place which should be enjoyed by anyone!
Seriously, why would they? And how would they control this? East Coast is so big, I don't think they can create one gigantic barrier all around it. And let's not forget all the overhead bridges / underpasses to get there. Oh, the food court and bike rentals there - they'll really get a headache if the government were to charge people for 'entering' East Coast.

[p.s.: Is the government really so desperate for money? or is this NParks?]
izit true??
