Is it true that trains only travel East to West because they move faster with the Earth's spin and save gas

Yes, they do. And, they always stop for Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Is it true that trains only travel East to West because they move faster with the Earth's spin and save gas
please don't say you have graduated high school or elementary for that fact are you seriously asking this because you don't know or what... ';it is better for people to think you are ignorant rather than to open your mouth and prove it';Is it true that trains only travel East to West because they move faster with the Earth's spin and save gas
Most railroad lines in the United States run east/west as opposed to north/south because for north/south transport along the east coast the ocean was used via cargo ships. Trains were necessary to go inland.
no it is not true train can travel in all directions.
no. most tracks run east to west in the united states because the east coast used to be the hub so the rail roads just mainly went east to transfer goods (mainly food and coal) from the west and the great plains to the eastern seaboard for use or shipment to europe. historically there wasnt much demand for north to south travel outside of the eastern seaboard
Trains can travel in any direction. The rotation of the Earth doesn't affect them.

The factors affecting trains' speed and fuel consumption are the curves and inclines on the track, and the load of the train itself.

This is why railway lines are made as straight and level as possible and why train designers are always striving for the best fuel economy and efficiency.

Btw. trains don't use gas. They use either diesel fuel or draw electric power from overhead wires or a 'third rail'.
no, not at all

you are right that east to west is much faster but trains also travel from north to south, all downhill that way, true story, just look at any globe. LOL
This would mean that they never get to make a return trip, or that they have to go around the world.

Now my question.......

Are you really as stupid as your question makes you appear?
No
sorry dont know
This does not really make sense if you think about it. If they were only to move from East to West, then they would have to travel around the whole world to get back to a destination eastbound. Lets say that a train leaves the state of New Jersey and travels to Ohio. It is impossible to keep going West to get back to New Jersey, because of the oceans, other countries and their laws, as well as gas/coal/electricity. I do not see how they can move faster with the Earth's spin. There may be some science to that, but I know for a fact that trains travel both ways. They even travel north and south. I do not think that the Earth's spin has anything to do with trains and the way they travel. Trains can set their own speed and whatnot. Have you ever heard of someone traveling by car from Florida to California and having better gas mileage than when they went back home?

EDIT: Isn't it bad when you have to act serious so your question and or answer does not get a violation????
No - and trains dont run on gas
This guy must be a product of the new ';outcome based education.';
Nope.. not true.
