Is all that true about how they treat with women in middle east?

I was watching Everwood and in this show a girl said that in middle east women are punished for adultery, or if they are raped, they need 4 male witnesses, otherwise they will go to jail. is this true?????????????????? poor womenIs all that true about how they treat with women in middle east?
Different Middle Eastern differ slightly, but yes, in a lot of ME countries women witnesses only count as a half of a person. Women get stoned to death for adultery and it can be very hard to prove rape.Is all that true about how they treat with women in middle east?
Sad but true
Oh yes, much of it is true and then some. Thank God you live in America.
I'm not sure about that but all the other stories are true women are really treated like that. I feel so thankful and lucky but I want to do something about it.
Yes that is true and there is even worse. Afghanistan was barbaric when the Taliban was in powder. It's not much better now. A 15 yr. old girl was raped in her home while her parents and brother were held in another room by Taliban soldiers. When they brought her home from the hospital her father and brother beat her for bringing shame to the family!!!
You can find out about this by looking at reports filed by human rights NGO's and United Nations bodies examining conditions in the various countries comprising the Middle East.

The following site is an excellent place to begin your research:

In many ME countries, it's much worse than they showed on Everwood. If a woman is raped, she can be executed for violating muslim law. It's against their code for a woman to be alone with a man who is not a close relative. A woman caught in that situation is considered a whore and can be raped or murdered without any punishment to the men.

There was a case in Afghanistan where a building caught on fire. The women in the building ran outside, but the men forced them back into the fire where they died. Muslim law prohibits women from being in public without their burkha, so they were forced to burn to death rather than violate that law.

Women in many countries are forbidden to go to school or learn to read. They are forced into arranged marriages, and can be murdered or raped if they refuse.

Don't listen to multiculturalists. They have an anti-Western agenda.
No that's not true. I'm a Muslim woman and in Islam you need 4 witnesses to prove adultery. Adulators are stoned to death though. My husband is from the Middle East and the men are punished for rape not the woman. But if a woman commits adultery she can be whipped 100 times in public. Adultery is forbidden in Islam.
You can't make such a claim, when exactly the same happens for men in the Western culture.
Yes, it is true BUT in the West, men are punished for adultery while women aren't (or so, I heard).

I really don't think you should be punished for it.
