Wasn't it true Middle-East had best hygene, medical & astronomers over 200 yrs ago, why are so backwards now??

I thought that when Western Civilization was only bathing maybe once a year , we were still blood-letting %26amp; thought the earth was flat, the Middle-Easterners were bathing regularly, had advanced surgical techniques %26amp; were quite sophisticated in their celestial views. What the heck happened? Every time I view CNN or BBC I see havoc %26amp; bedlam, massive groups of men rhythmically vowing to destroy anyone who speaks of their world in a durogatory way...throngs of women as well as men signing up to blow themselves up for this cause %26amp; promise of eternal bliss. (by the way I'd be very interested to know what the women are told they will be rewarded with in heaven if she does this) I'm saddened that this at one time very progressive society seems to have lost that impetus %26amp; would be gratefull for any links to a fact-based historically logical answer.Wasn't it true Middle-East had best hygene, medical %26amp; astronomers over 200 yrs ago, why are so backwards now??
Thanks to the Mesopotamians, who invented everything from the wheel , to glass, to math, etc.... We Assyrians are the decedents of the Mesopotamians, not the Arabs that live in the Iraq today. Those are descendants of the invading Arabs who wished to convert us to Islam, so my people wished to die, therefore they killed off thousands to millions of Assyrians, forever ended the Assyrian rule of Iraq, our homeland. If the Assyrians (who were the first people to accept Christianity) ruled Iraq/Mesopotamia, the Middle East would be a very different place today.Wasn't it true Middle-East had best hygene, medical %26amp; astronomers over 200 yrs ago, why are so backwards now??
capitalism fked the world...
Of course you will think negatively if they are only showing negative things on the news. I'm sure they still have all of those things...hygiene, medical, astronomers. What you see is NOT how everyone in the whole region thinks.
