Is it true that the sun rises in the east, and sets on the west?

is it true...

my dad told me that the sun rises in the east, and sets on the west...Is it true that the sun rises in the east, and sets on the west?
Yes. That's why any eastern country will always be ahead in time, some by a couple of hours some by almost a day. Anything east of you will be ahead of time.Is it true that the sun rises in the east, and sets on the west?
Yes I live in the Philippines and the Sun rises here before my folks who livew in Buffalo , New York ...

Yes every day.
That's true for any planet in the solar system except Venus, which spins the other way.
yes
Yes it's true.
yes
Sort of. Sometimes. Because of the rotation of the Earth the Sun has an apparent motion in our sky.

At the equinoxes the Sun appears to rise in the east and set in the west. At other times of the year the Sun will appear to rise somewhat north or south of due east and set somewhat north or south of due west.

The amount of variation depends on the time of year (Being greatest at the solstices) and on latitude (Being greater the further one travels from the Equator.)

At the extremes the Sun can rise and set due directly to the south (north of the Arctic circle) or directly to the north (south of the Antarctic circle)
Yes!!!!!
